I’m sure it doesn’t matter that much to most of you, but I feel that I owe an apology for letting this blog go AWOL over the past several months. For those who are still hanging around, I thank you, and I intend to write more frequently. It’s been nearly a year since we moved to Dubai and let me tell you, my life has been turned upside down and put in 5th gear, which is the principal reason (excuse) for not writing new posts.
Over the past several months, I have moved house (twice), ran around an unfamiliar place trying to get my daughter on waiting lists for schools (difficult to do here!), finished my chartered diploma in marketing, dealt with (and am still dealing with) family illnesses, furnished our house (we had little else but electronics and apparel to our name previously), entertained a revolving door of guests, visited friends and family in other countries, and started working full time at a start-up digital media agency in Dubai (website under construction – we’ve been expanding too fast to have time to update our own site), which I must say has consumed most of my free time trying to climb the ever expanding learning curve. Plus of course there’s the day-to-day responsibilities of being a mom and wife (with no help from a nanny, as is so common in this part of the world).
Along the way I have observed and conversed with people of all walks of life. Dubai has been more interesting than I anticipated and am looking forward to sharing my insight with you (just please excuse the quality of my writing – all I care about is providing a bit of insight to those who are interested, not being a great writer or crowd sourcing). Thanks for sticking around and keep watching this space!
